In January, I made that cute snippet roll inspired by a few new fat quarters that I ordered. I loved the colors in that roll so much that I decided to stitch up a patchwork quilt in the same color story. I got this far in January:

I got it pieced together, but slowed down when it came time to either buy new backing fabric, or piece together some yardage from my stash. I decided to make do with what I had since this was just a “fun” quilt, but my yardage wasn’t quite long enough. It was just enough of a conundrum that it slowed down my whole process. Until last week. I ended up using some leftover patchwork squares to make up the difference.

I decided to use the cotton batting I had on hand for the new biscuit quilt I’m also working on (previous post). Since puffy quilts seem to be popular right now, I picked up some extra-high loft poly batting at my favorite store, WalMart. $7.97. I love that place! I tied it with some Presencia Finca perle cotton, size 8.
I love a good patchwork quilt! And these colors make me so happy.
