I’ve been carrying this little tote around the house with me when I feel like I might have a few minutes to read. It has my current read, my planner, highlighters, notebooks, kindle, iPad, lip balm, reading lights, a bookmark….anything I might need that I frequently forget right after sitting down to read.
I made it several years ago using a free pattern from Craftsy that I altered. Unfortunately, the pattern is no longer available after Craftsy changed its strategy and became terrible. Fortunately, there are many tote patterns out there, some more complicated than others.

Also this week, I finally sent out some snail mail. How cute is this Trader Joe’s card?? I always wish I picked up more than one of these styles. I like to tuck in a little gift in the card – in a previous blog post, I’ve mentioned mailing individually packaged teabags. That worked very well. I also like to purchase $5 Starbucks gift cards and I’ve been saving this Florida Orange patterned one.
But, with the many Starbucks drink price increases, five bucks doesn’t even cover a grande iced latte any more. I’ve noticed the trend is to blame price increases on inflation, which I don’t doubt there are many, but the CEO of Starbucks used to make $14+ million in 2020 and now he makes over $20 million. Inflation or corporate GREED?
I do love the Brown Sugar Oatmilk shaken espressos. I wonder how hard it is to make a brown sugar simple syrup….gotta look into that. I’ll probably be back to Starbie’s for the Pumpkin Spice and red cups. I can’t wait for it to be the fall season. Here, as far south as I live, it’s never fall, and always hot, but at least it will be calendar appropriate to be in a fall “mood” in the northern hemisphere.

If my library stack and Libby ebooks and audiobooks aren’t enough, I signed up for a Netgalley account to review publisher ARC’s. (Advanced Reader Copy) They are digital copies and I’ve already been approved for 2 even with my score of zero starting out. I also added a “Available Now” copy for a total of 3.

I haven’t sewed a single thing this week, and I’m blaming it on this stupid heat and a migraine. I tried some Ginger Turmeric tea to combat the headache and it seemed to work pretty well. That plus ibuprofen and sitting in the dark.
Who else is crushing on the “Little Miss” trend on Instagram? Here are my favorites from the week:

That’s all for this week! <3, C
